Giving to Mechanical Engineering

Although the commonwealth does provide funding to Virginia Tech, that funding represents only 39% of the university’s yearly budget. State budget shortfalls have impacted all of VT’s colleges, including the Mechanical Engineering Department. Your support is needed now more than ever to sustain our progress and improve our program offerings. Student scholarships, student projects, new program seeding, and outreach activities are all supported by gifts from alumni and friends. Your generosity means the difference between an educational program that is adequate, and one that is outstanding.

You can securely make a pledge, make a payment on an existing pledge, make a gift using your credit card, or request information on donating securities, making a planned gift or using electronic funds transfer from your checking account, via the online pledging form. Be sure to designate “Other Designation” and indicate “ME” along with any other specific use information you desire.

If you are a regular contributor to the Department, then we send our sincere thanks, and ask for your continued support. If you are not, please consider being a part of the progress of one of the Nation’s best M.E. departments.
